Broadband provision in Hull and East Yorkshire
Kingston Communications’ Karoo is currently the only ADSL based fixed network broadband service available to consumers in Hull and East Yorkshire who use Kingston Communications for the provision of telephony services.
Ofcom, the independent regulator and competition authority for the UK communications industries, stipulates that Kingston Communications must make wholesale broadband access products available to organisations that wish to provide internet services via its network.
Kingston Communications meets this requirement and offers a range of wholesale broadband products to meet the needs of ISPs.
The broadband market in Hull and the parts of East Yorkshire served by Kingston Communications is therefore open to any ISP (internet service provider) that wishes to offer its own broadband services via Kingston Communications’ network.
To date, no other ISPs have chosen to do this.
